MICKEY MOUSE´S HOUSE

Narrator: It was a bright morning. The sun was shining in Mickey Mouse´s house. Mickey and his friends, Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy went to the park for a picnic and they left Pluto at home.

Mickey: Hi, guys!                                         

Minnie: I´ve brought some food. Look at these delicious sandwiches!!

Daisy: I´ve got the drinks.

Goofy: I´ve brought the tablecloth and some delicious biscuits…

Narrator: Mickey and his friends were enjoying the picnic. Meanwhile, in Mickey Mouse´s house the evil Peet was trying to take poor Pluto with him. Pluto was protecting the house. Peet broke into Mickey Mouse´s house to take Pluto with him. One hour later, when Mickey and his friends finished the picnic in the park, they decided to go back home to have some rest and to give Pluto the leftovers. When they arrived at Mickey´s house, they found the door open. Minnie and Daisy got afraid when they noticed that Pluto wasn’t there.  

Pause…

Narrator: At that moment the put on the superhero masks and headed for the wood, where they found three long paths.

Minnie: Look! There is a map.

Daisy: Can you help us to read it?

Pause…

Donald: Minnie, please, read the map.

Minnie: The path that we have to follow is the yellow one.

Everybody: Where is the yellow path, kids?

Pause…

Narrator: Meanwhile, Peet…

Peet: I will be able to destroy you at last, but this is not enough, I have to take one of them with me…, but who could it be? Oh, yes, I know…it will be…

Narrator: Meanwhile, in the three paths… (?)

Mickey: There is someone missing…

Goofy: Yes, Minnie is missing

Micky, Daisy and Donald: Oh, God, Minnie and Pluto have been kidnapped…

Narrator: Peet was about to achieve his goal, to destroy Mickey Mouse.

Mickey: We won´t give in until we find Minnie and Pluto…

Narrator: Mickey and his friends were going to go into the wood, but this was not going to be easy…Before getting into the wood, they had to build a huge yellow puzzle for them to be able to go Peet´s house, where Minnie and Pluto were supposed to be.

Narrator: When they finish the puzzle, they went into Peet´s house.

Daisy: Hey, this is frightening!!

Donald: There´s nothing to be afraid of, Daisy, all of us will go in together.

Mickey: Let´s go!!

Goofy: Yes, let´s go!!

Narrator: Minnie started to whistle because she knew that if Mickey could hear her whistle, he would rescue her.

Minney: Don´t worry, Pluto, Mickey will find us.

Peet: Would you like some water?

Minnie: I think the reason why Peet has kidnapped us is because he feels alone.

Narrator: Suddenly Mickey, Daisy and Donald came inside Peet´s house and Mickey shouted, “Release them right now!!”

Minnie: Nooo, Mickey! Peet has acted so badly because he feels terribly alone. He wanted to be with us, that´s why he has brought us here. He wanted us to be with him.

Narrator: All of them hugged Peet and they all went to the park to have fun and to enjoy being good friends.

Scene 2    PRESENTS

FAMILY 2 (machista)

Peter, Emily, Sarah, Harry

Peter: Have you written the letter for the Magi?

Sarah: Yes, daddy. Here it is.

Peter: Oh, God, have you asked for a laser handgun? But you are not a boy. (reading) You also want a doll, a doll trolley…and two cars!!! This is so weird…

Emily: Don´t say that to Sarah, is it bad for her to ask for a toy car? I like toy cars…and I am a woman. Let´s see what Harry has asked for…a plushie, a toy kitchen? But Harry, my love…don´t you like the pirate ship? And what about the playmobil western for?

Harry: No, well…, I want the pirate ship and the board games as well, the parcheese, the game of the goose, …but I like the Master chef kitchen and the plushie as well…

Emily: Okay, my love…Ask for what you like, you are so good, the three Wise Men will bring anything that you ask for…

The children leave…

Peter: Our children are so weird…a handgun for Sarah and a kitchen for Harry…

Emily: It´s okay, Peter, our children are very good and this is what really matters…

Eric: Have you written the letter for the Magi?

July: Yes, daddy. Here it is.

Susan: July wants a laser gun, a pirate ship, a doll and some books.

Eric: Very well, my love. What about you, Mark?

Mark: Daddy, I want the Master Chef kitchen, the feeding froggies, a plushie, a doll and a Disney princess.

Susan: Which Disney princess would you like, Mark?

Mark: Brave, I love her…

Eric: And… why do you like Mérida?

Mark: because she is very beautiful and very brave.

Susan: Okay, children, send your letter and the Magi will bring all the toys to you because you have been very good children.

James: Good morning, my love, I´m going to work, I will come for dinner, you take the children to school, ok?

Emily: It´s all right. Then I will have to go shopping and do a lot of things.

Narrator: Later, at seven in the morning…

Emily: Come on, children, time to get up. Sarah, take out your clothes and your brother´s while I prepare breakfast! Do it quickly.

Sarah: It´s all right, mum.

Sarah: Mark, wake up, we´re late for school.

Harry: Ok, little sister…

Emily: Come on, have your breakfast. Mark, have you prepared your schoolbag? What about you, Sarah?

Harry: Ummm, I forgot about it, mum, I´m sorry.

Sarah: I did it yesterday, mum

Emily: Ok, help your brother with his schoolbad

Sarah: It´s all right. I´ll help my brother… Harry, let´s check your schoolbag, give me your timetable…Let´s see…Give me the Maths book, the Science book, …What else? History, Spanish, and Physical Education…What about your tracksuit? And your trainers? You´re not wearing it…Uff, It´s always the same …I have to do everything.

Eric: Good morning, my love, I´m going to work, I´ll come for dinner….I´ll take the children to school, I´ll help you to get them ready.

Susan: It´s all right. Thank you, Eric. Thanks God you always help me because today I have so many things to do: go to the supermarket, visit my mother, make an appointment to see the doctor and go to the bank and I am exhausted.

Eric: Calm down, Susan, I´m going to help you. Today I´m going to finish earlier at work and I´ll have time to pick up the children at school. I can also go to the supermarket and go to your mother´s house with the children,…Ok?

Susan: Oh, thank you, Eric…You are so kind...See you

Narrator: Later, at seven in the morning…

Susan: Let´s go, children, time to get up…take you clothes.

Mark: These are my clothes…My timetable, today I need…the Science book, Maths, Social Studies, …

Julie: I´m going to wear …these jeans and this jumper…and I need my pencil case and these books

Susan: Have you got your schoolbags ready?

Julie and Mark: Yes, we have just done it

Susan: Oh, how responsible you are, I´m so proud of you…

Eric: Come on, children, we are late for school…

ABUSE (playscript)

The abused woman and her husband appear in the room

Husband: You´re too late. You have to clean, do the laundry, cook and do the ironing.

Wife: I have to bear my boss at work and at home I have to bear your abuses.

Husband: Don´t talk me back! You are good for nothing. All you can do is clean, So get to clean…NOW!!

She leaves and cleans the room. In a while she takes her bag and gets ready to leave. The abuser grabs her arm and tells her:

Husband: Where are you going?

Wife: I´m meeting my friend.

Husband: You are not going anywhere.

Wife: We´re just meeting for some coffee. (she starts to walk…)

Husband: (shouting and grabbing her hand) I´m telling you not to go.

She looks at him scornfully and leaves.

Husband: I´m going to buy cigarettes, don´t even think about getting out of that door.

She runs out of the room and goes to her brother´s house. Her sister in law opens the door.

Helen: What´s wrong? !!!

Laura: I can´t stand this situation anymore. I have tried, but I can´t. This is too hard.

Helen: Tell us, Helen, we will help you and protect you, you know that ….

They sit down and Laura talks to them (no noise)…

Helen: Oh, God, I don´t understand how you have been able to stand all that. We are going to report this to the police immediately.

Laura: He told me that if I got out of the house, he would beat me.

Brother: Calm down, Laura. Nothing will happen to you. We will protect you. I never trusted him, I never liked him. You shouldn´t have waited for so long to tell us about it.

Helen: Better late than never.

Laura hugs her brother.

Laura: Thank you. I need to go to the toilet.

Laura´s mobile rings. Helen answers.

Helen: Hello?

A friend: Laura? Is Laura there please?

Helen: No, this is not Laura. It´s a long story. Can you come home, please? Laura is having a very bad time.  

Her friend: Of course, I´ll be there in five minutes.

Laura´s friend arrives at the house, they explain everything to her and Laura hugs her crying.

Laura´s friend: Why have you not talked to us about it before? We love you, Laura.

Laura: I couldn´t. I was so ashamed…

Brother: If he battered you again, I could kill him…

Laura´s friend: Laura, my love, you don´t deserve to be treated like this, so humiliated. Let´s go to tell the police.

The three of them stand up and leave. Curtains close.

Policeman: What´s wrong?  Abuse? violence?

Brother: You´re right. We want to report physical and verbal abuse towards my sister by her husband.

Laura: Peter, …are you sure?

Policeman: This is what you must do: report to the police.

Laura´s friend: Abusers must be judged and condemned.

Another policeman: Here is the abuser. Is this your husband, Laura?

Brother (looking at the audience): If you are being abused, tell your family and friends. Never keep quiet. It is the only way out.
