Hi Mark,

How are you? I´m so happy with our new flat! It is in a quiet street. It´s on the third floor and it´s got a balcony.

There are five bedrooms in my flat. It has got a cosy living room, a big kitchen and a small bathroom. There are two bedrooms. My favourite room is the living room. It has got a huge sofa with lots of cushions. It has got a big TV, a coffee table, an armchair and a carpet on the floor.

I can´t wait for you to visit. How about this Saturday?

3.      An email describing your best friend

Hi Mary,

Hope you´re OK. I´d like to tell you about my best friend, Emily.

She is short and thin with long dark hair. She is clever and funny, but she can be messy too.

She goes to school at 8:00 in the morning. In the evening she likes to listen to music and at the weekends she sometimes goes to the cinema.

She´s a great person.

4.       A holiday from a holiday resort

Hi Sarah,

Greetings from Paris!We´re staying at a nice hotel in the city centre. The weather´s cool but sunny. There are lots of things to do here. In the mornings, we visit museums and visit the sights. In the afternoon, we go shopping and try local dishes. At the moment, I´m sitting in a street café. My mum is drinking coffee and my dad is eating a French pastry. We´re all having fun!

5.      A biography

Charles Dickens was a famous author. He was born on 7^th February in Portsmouth, England in 1812. In 1827 Dickens was an office boy, but he decided to become a writer. He married Catherine Hogarth in 1836. A year later in 1837, his first classic novel `Oliver Twist´ appeared. In 1842, he visited America to talk about his work. Between 1854 and 1860, he published more classics including `Hard Times´ and `Great Expectations´. He visited America for second time in 1867, but he was in bad health. He died on 9^th June, 1870 in Kent, England. He was a special person because he was a great writer and he created some very memorable characters.

6.      A story

Last summer Andrew went to Hawaii for a holiday with his family. The weather was hot and sunny. One morning he wanted to go surfing. He felt really excited. He put on his shorts, got his board and went to the beach.

Andrew ran into the sea and swam out. Suddenly, he felt a pain in his leg. He couldn´t swim! He didn´t know what to do. He felt terrified. He slipped under the water. Suddenly, he saw a grey head in the water. It was a dolphin.

The dolphin swam up to him and Andrew got on its back. Then, the dolphin took him to the shore. ´Thank you, my friend´, he said to it. Andrew felt so relieved to be safe!
